Hello, my name is Jason Dula, son of Ed Dula. I was born
here in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 15th, 1976.
I have been in mechanic’s since I was 18 years old. I
began with my first car, proceeding to blow up the motor
three times before I got it right, with my Dad’s help of
course. He was right there to help me through it all. I
have had many vehicles through the years and have done
engine work, brake changes, rear ends, axles,
transmission and carburetor work and even a little body
and paint repair. I guess I have experienced a little
bit of everything .
I was an apprentice in the carpenter’s union for a few
years but decided it wasn’t really what I enjoyed doing.
What I enjoy most is working on engines of any kind and
everything that goes with it.
I owned a detailing business for over three years and
learned a lot about customer satisfaction and being your
own boss. I also learned that it is hard to please
everyone 100%, but did my best to fill their
expectations, because it was important to me. This
endeavor pretty much came to an end when my truck was
stolen, which included all my detailing equipment. This
all led to a detour I had not planned , but am very glad
now, because at this point in time, I started working
for my Dad with his suspension business in 2002.
My brothers and I have been around bikes for a good part
of our lives . When I was about five, Dad built us our
own Go Kart and surprised all of us one Christmas. We
were very excited and had a blast on it for quite
awhile. This was really cool but in a few years time he
bought us our first four-wheeler. This was even better.
Then within a few years we got two dirt bikes. Dad made
sure, even though it wasn’t in the budget, that we had
something to ride.
My twin brothers, Jordan Dula - Real Estate Agent Las
Vegas and Jeremy, entered their first motocross race in
St. George, Utah on their sixteenth birthday . Through
the years, I witnessed their vigorous training routines,
outstanding dedication and their MX competition’s, and
feel, I learned a lot from their experience’s.
In helping my Dad with his business, “Dula Racing
Suspension”, I feel, I really learned so much from him.
He was very patient in his teaching and gave me his
steadfast knowledge, hardly ever complaining, on a daily
basis. Dad was very particular about the way thing’s
were done and stressed these insights to me often. He
would say; “Do everything 110% or don’t do it at all “.
I saw first hand how well he treated his customers and
also their gratitude for his hard work. His love of
motocross and dedication to his customers made it all
work. Ask anyone my Dad knew, and they will tell you of
his character.
I was planning to work for my Dad and learn as much as I
could, until he could open a shop and really expand the
business. To our deep regret, on October 2nd, 2003, he
passed away unexpectedly in his sleep. Our family
experienced a loss, no words on earth could capture. Mom
and the family were devastated, but hearing from all
that knew him, with their compassionate words of
sympathy, healed a lot of our pain. We will always be
grateful for their concern and kind words.
In the middle of our grief, I found out that Race Tech
had their technical school running in mid-October and
with the help of a dear family friend, I made my plans
to go. I wanted to carry on the business for Dad if I
could. The day before I was to leave for California,
something happened, short of a miracle, that made it
possible for my brother Jeremy, to go too, if he wanted
to. Sure enough, he did ! Jeremy and I attended the Race
Tech school and we think, with Dad’s help, managed to do
well, and receive all three certification’s. “We were
ready to Rock”.
We have been doing suspension since November, 2003. We
started out slowly, trying to also keep up with family
financial obligations, and helping our Mom. Since then,
we have learned much in the process, and continue to
gain more knowledge, each and every day. We both love
the challenge and like Dad, the smile’s and gratitude
from our customers. With our motto, “We’re Not Happy
Till You Are”, we plan to keep our Dad’s name high in
the sky of motocross! In our heart’s we know Dad is
watching over us and we hope proud.
Jeremy, has really got the fine testing and tuning down.
His racing experience’s through the years, have been a
big help, because he knows first hand where the rider is
coming from and where he need’s to go. And by the way,
he can really build a valve stack! Our goal is to learn
as much as we can about bike suspension and performance,
because in our estimation, you can never know enough. We
are always up for the challenge and the learning
experience.
We hope to meet many of you, and will be happy to answer
any questions or concerns you have, big or small. Have a
great day, and “Ride Hard, Ride Safe and Have Fun”. |
